Burial Prep: Favor White Skulls

A practical burial path for Graveyard Keeper 2: clean Red soft parts, protect White organs, embalm carefully, then bury and decorate for graveyard quality.

Burial goal: favor White

For graveyard quality, White skulls are the score that matters. Public launch guides (games.gg, Prima, GameRant) and the Wikily corpse pages agree: bury for White; Red does not add positive graveyard points and can soak decoration / wreath capacity before White rows count. You do not always need zero Red — tipping the balance toward White (and matching White with decorations) is the practical burial target.

Decide burial before you cut. Soft parts and organ variants on the same corpse can differ — read the skull icons on each part, not a memorized “always remove X” list.

Safe burial extraction order

  1. Dark Organs first (if present) — early guides describe Dark Brain / Dark Heart variants as inflating Red and suppressing White. Remove them before embalming so you don’t waste reagents.
  2. Blood & Fat — Wikily and GameRant list each as 1 Red soft part. Free / early soft-part extractions that scrub Red without touching White. Always start here for burial.
  3. Leave Flesh when it shows White (commonly 1 White) — removing it burns burial score. Only take Flesh if you need the material and accept the White hit.
  4. Hard organs & Skin / Bones / Skull — each quality tier can carry different White/Red mixes (see corpse types). For burial, remove Red-heavy parts; keep White-heavy ones. Prima’s rule of thumb: extract Red unless the same organ carries more White.
  5. Avoid Surgeon’s Error — if Anatomy mastery is too low, a failed op can leave a Surgeon’s Error (−1 White / −1 Red per Wikily & GameRant) and block zombie use later. Skip advanced organs until mastery is ready.

Embalming for burial

Wikily’s GK2 embalming table (Formulation Bench → Embalming Table) lists burial-leaning mixes as Solution for Corpses (+White) and Injection for Corpses (−Red / +White), graded I–III by craft quality. That is the most detailed public GK2 table we found.

Some launch articles still describe a Lye → clear Red → Glue / Silver / Gold style sequence (and our embalming page / calculator still expose those planner toggles). Unverified naming Treat those names as directional estimates until you confirm which reagents your build shows on the embalming UI.

FAQ

Do I need zero Red for burial?

Not necessarily. Guides say tip the balance toward White (and cover White rows with decorations). Zero Red is nice; more White than Red is the usual working target.

Should I remove Flesh on burial corpses?

Usually no — Flesh commonly carries White. Blood and Fat (Red soft parts) are the safe free cleanup.

What if I buried a bad corpse?

Exhume with a certificate from Januarius after clearing decorations, then rework organs or send the body to zombie / materials duty.

Is this official?

No. Unofficial fan site, unaffiliated with Lazy Bear Games or the publishers.
